SoonerSafe safe room rebate: 2026 status

Not open in 2026. Oklahoma Emergency Management says the 2026 rebate program is not open; the program depends on FEMA hazard-mitigation funding (source, checked October 2026).

How it worked in past years

• Paid up to 75% of the cost of a new safe room, maximum $3,000 per home (it was $2,000 through 2023)
• Recipients chosen by random drawing; some years gave priority to disaster-affected counties
• Required annual registration, a primary single-family residence, and a safe room meeting FEMA P-320, FEMA P-361 and ICC 500
• Already-installed shelters were not eligible, so if a new round opens, register before you install
